2005 Superbike Rulebook changes and 2005 Daytona Formula Xtreme Supplemental Regulations
The following rule changes and additions are approved for the 2005 AMA Superbike Championship. Date of implementation for all changes and additions will be January 1, 2005.

The following changes are for the 2005 Superbike Rulebook:
1. Tires
Superbike, Superstock, and Formula Xtreme -- Any tire approved by the tire manufacturer for racing is allowed. See pages 11 sec-tion 4, 17 section 4 and 25 section f.
Supersport -- No changes to the current tire rule. See page 17 section 3.
2. Fork Braces
Superstock, Supersport -- Due to the quality of front fork structures on modern sport bikes, additional fork bracing will no longer be permitted. See page 17, section 12 c.
3. Rider entry restrictions
There are no entry restrictions on factory riders in Superbike and Superstock.
The following will be part of the Supplemental Regulations for the 2005 Daytona 200 (using Formula Xtreme class machinery):
1. Multi-cylinder motorcycles must use stock fuel tanks. Modifications are allowed to the fuel cap area for the installation of a single internal venting quick fill coupler (dry brake). Stock fuel capacity must be maintained.
2. Twin-cylinder, air-cooled motorcycles are allowed to modify stock fuel tanks or add an auxiliary tank to bring capacity up to a maximum of 17.5 liters. Installation of a single internal venting quick fill coupler (dry brake) is permitted.
3. Rear wheel sprocket and brake rotor must remain with the wheel assembly when removed from the swing arm. No additional modifications to the swing arm and rear brake system beyond those specified in Formula Xtreme Equipment Standards (page 25 section b) are permitted.
4. Front wheel removal must be accomplished by removal of the axle from the wheel and forks.
5. If any rotation of the lower fork assemblies is required for the removal of the front wheel, it must be done manually by a crewmember. The use of any device (springs, ramps, cams, etc.) to cause fork lowers to rotate during wheel removal and installation is prohibited.
6. Five crewmembers are allowed on the track side of the pit lane for servicing, refueling and tire changes.
7. Motorcycles entered in Supersport may also enter Formula Xtreme. (Daytona only) The motorcycles must adhere to all Supersport rules when ridden in Supersport.
